Icy Hills

Most of you have seen our house and neighborhood and know that we live on a street with a little hill on the street, and we are luckily on the top-quarter of that hill. Well, that hill is now covered by 1/4 inch of ice. Needless to say, even though I haven't gone out yet (mostly because poor Colden has a cold and didn't sleep well last night, which means I didn't sleep well, either), I still get some good laughs...thanks to our awesome HUGE front window (that we had to replace and it cost a bunch...but at least it's pretty).
Early this morning, there was a semi truck (without the trailer) trying to go up the hill. He tried for about 5 minutes then gave up and backed down and went down the side street. A few hours later, I saw this tan sedan coming down the side street kinda fast. It turned to go up the icy hill. As it was turning, it slid...right into our neighbor's big, white van (yeah, the type of work van that the sniper supposedly drove). The driver then backed up to the side street and went another way.
Most recently, my neighbor got in that van to move it. I heard the engine rev for about 5 minutes, but he made it up the hill! (He's a total hick of a guy...he probably just wanted to go up the hill for the sake of making it.)
So, those have been my laughs today! After what I have seen, I won't be trying to drive up that hill until the ice melts.
