On Saturday, we went to a local Greek festival and ate Greek pastries and a Gyro. Fran served a mission in Greece so that was nostalgic for her. Afterward, we tried to go to the zoo. But as it was such a gorgeous day, everyone else seemed to have that idea, too. After trying to find parking for 5 minutes, we gave up and went to Lone Elk Park, which has an open range area for elk, deer, turkeys, and bison. It also has a wild bird sanctuary. That night, we played a game called Puerto Rico.

Sunday was a church and chill day with more games (Ticket to Ride and Settlers until midnight).
Bright and early Monday morning, Dylan woke me up...and Colden awoke soon after. Everyone else slept another 2-3 hours (at least I got some laundry done). After lunch, we decided to try the zoo again. Good idea...the holiday crowds had begun to dissipate. We saw lions, a tiger, and bears...oh my...and many other animals. Colden loved seeing the peacocks and Dylan really liked the reptiles. After the kids were in bed, we finished our great weekend with a game of Catch Phrase.

Sounds fun! So that's how you entertain when visitors come...should we take notes for when you guys come? (Except that it won't be summer and we couldn't go to parks or the zoo...winter's so hard to think of stuff to do...maybe that's something I can blog about to get some ideas from people!)
I'm glad you all had a nice time together. I guess I take for granted that my parents, sister, aunt and grandparents all live within 15 minutes of us.
We just want more people to visit us!! And we want to make sure our visitors feel like the trip is worth it. There's always something to do...sometimes we have to look for those things or just be a little creative.
Winter ideas: weekend festivals (I'm sure Park City has them), snow tubing, cross country or downhill skiing, indoor swimming pools, museums, playing games, pool, ping pong, bowling, roller skating, and creative at-home activities (make-your-own video contest, dance contest, obstacle course, art projects, etc...)
