Right now, I'm sitting in our car in the driveway, getting my "internet fix" in...and a little bit of me time. I'm enjoying myself thoroughly. Yeah, I could wait until the kids are in bed, but I decided to sneak away into this hide-out and steal some time alone. Last weekend, I told Rob that I need a hobby that gets me out of the house. Since he runs, he suggested that I walk. Although I usually love walking or any type of outdoor exercise, I can't bear the thought of that as "rejuvenating" when I'm 7 months pregnant with all of those lovely aches and pains and weariness that accompany that. So, today I decided to sit in the car, roll the windows down a little, listen to the birds and my family play inside while I take a break out here. Nice. I like it so much that I'll just HAVE to do it again!
I checked out a few local places where I could get a pregnancy massage...and I'm seriously thinking of booking one soon. Ahhhh. Just thinking about it is nice.
Last night, Rob and I went on a date. We checked out one of the two hospitals that I'm considering for the delivery. Then we went to a movie, Spiderwick Chronicles (fun, juvenile show). We went to the $4 theater...I heard today that it used to be the $1 theater. We were the only two people in the theater...we figured that our tickets didn't even pay for the kid running the projector! So that was fun. We dropped our kids off at a friend's house...so they didn't get to bed until 1-2 hours past their bedtime last night. And, therefore, I've had just a lovely day with them today. Quick to throw tantrums, quick to whine and complain, quick to pick on each other.
So, while I was preparing dinner, I decided that I would come out here after dinner and reward myself with some time. It sure made it easier to cope through that last bit of time before Rob came home.
Now...why haven't I thought of doing this before?
