Your Wish is Granted

I have received several requests for photo updates of lil Evelynn. Here she is! 10 weeks old. I just took that picture an hour ago.

She's a very happy child, our little copper top (yes, it's auburn or strawberry blond...we'll see how long it holds up). She is such a doll. The boys still adore her.

I just have to say that I had my first girl bonding moment with her a couple of weeks ago. Rob was doing some big-time work in the back yard and the boys were following him around. As I was loading Evelynn into the car so we could get more gloves and rent a chainsaw, I cooed to her and said, "hey, we're going shopping together! Just the two of us!" So...there you have it. My first girl bonding moment with my daughter...while we went shopping at the home improvement store.

Last weekend, we went to "the farm," aka private property that belongs to a relative of a friend. We've been there two other times but didn't have any luck with the fish. This time, Rob caught around 20 fish...at least 15 in the last hour we were there. Colden was his little shadow and helped his Daddy reel the fish in a few times. This is the first fish he "caught." Every day since then, I've had to go "fishing" or "rowing" with him on our "boat" (couch) downstairs. He was a little boy in heaven.

This is the catfish Rob caught...with the help of a friend (since his fishing line wasn't strong enough to pull it out). Later, Rob and Dylan swam in the lake. I wished that I had brought a swimming suit so I could join them...wait a minute...none of mine fit right now.

A few weeks ago, Rob found a small garter snake in our lawn while he was mowing. Colden decided that he wanted to keep it. I obliged as long as I don't have to touch or feed it. Sammy, the snake, has been doing well ever since. He eats earthworms and crickets. We think. We've never seen him eat anthing, but the stuff we put in there disappears and Sammy is still alive.

Our first pet.

Over Labor Day weekend, we visited my BIL and SIL in Ohio. We had a great weekend playing games, going to the children's museum, and petting horses. It's great to be close enough to someone so we can get together for a weekend.

Evie is really big. Looks way different than when we saw her last. Thanks for the update. I really liked the description of your mother-daughter bonding time at the hardware store.
