And all through the home
Not a creature was stirring
Except for the mum.
The stockings were stuffed
On the couch with care
The hope of St Nicholas
Had already been there.
The children were nestled
All snug in their tent
While visions of sugar-plums
Were past spent.
And what to our
Wondering eyes should appear
But working on projects,
Mom and Dad dear.
Dad and Grandpa happily
Assembled the bunk bed
While Mom quilted
And Grandma sped
Through sewing new
Pajamas for our little boys
For this homespun Christmas
With more heart than toys.
And I could go on
But I'm losing my rhyme
Besides, I only have
So much time (before Evelynn wakes up).
So I'll finish the poem
And let you see
The gifts we made
That didn't make it under the tree.
(at least it rhymes!!)

The bunk bed that Daddy built.

These are the jammies (the sporty fleece material...his favorite blankets are the other materials) that were made by Grandma that are on the happy Dylan who sleeps in the bunk bed that Daddy built.

These are the quilts that were made (or...are being made...) by Mommy that go in the bedroom of the happy boys who sleep in the bunk bed that Daddy built.
(Okay, so I couldn't resist doing another poem parody....it fit so perfectly!!)
The boys slept in a tent downstair on Christmas Eve so that Rob and his dad could assemble the bunk bed in their room. We had them go on a treasure hunt to find it. It was so much fun going around the house with their simple treasure hunt! After Dylan got his new bed, we asked (told) him to give his crib to Evelynn. At first he was unwilling, but he quickly changed his mind and kindly gave the crib to her. It was such a sweet gift!!

Evelynn's homespun gift was that colleciton of frames above the guest bed that spells LOVE. This is also a picture of her room...so far. I still have a few things to put up on the other walls before it's finished. But...I'm amazed that I choose to put pink, bows, and ruffles in her bedroom! She's bringing out the girly girl in me...I never knew it was there.

I love that floral pillow. The fabric is awesome!
You should see her quilt!! I'll post a picture of that when I'm done with her room...
The bunk beds are awesome! Yay free mattresses. I like that everything was home made. I like those kinds of gifts the best. Way to go you guys.
