Last Friday, Colden chose to help me frost Evelynn's birthday cake instead of watch his regular afternoon movie (I was shocked by that).
While I was whipping up the frosting, he sat in the chair and said with a huge smile on his face, "My tummy feels funny."
Then I asked, "Are you excited?"
And he just nodded with that huge grin on his face. I just thought that it was so cute that he was excited for his sister's birthday.
Tonight, while Rob was helping Dylan brush his teeth, he was looking in Dylan's mouth. Dylan didn't want him to.
Rob: I'm a Dentist.
Dylan: No you're not.
Rob: I am.
Dylan: No you're not.
Rob: I am. What am I, then?
Dylan: You're a Daddy.
Evelynn just loves to drop things and then say, "Uh-oh."
And she loves to scream whenever anything delights her--toys, playgrounds, slides, and her screaming monkey. And she loves to scream whenever something bothers her--diaper changes, drying off after a bath, and her brothers teasing her.

Tim has a monkey that you can shoot across the room - via his rubber band arms - and when it hits the wall it makes a screaming monkey sound. The only problem is, when you fling the monkey, I think the sound it makes causes Tim to think it is hurt so he almost starts to cry when you fling it against the wall. Ooops. No more monkey flinging.
So cute!
That's the screaming monkey that we have, too!! So funny! Somehow, we got it from your mom...
I used to teach a primary class with all 5-year-old boys. These boys were fun and always taught me a lot. One lesson I'll never forget. I don't recall the topic of the lesson, but I think I was trying to get them to tell their parents how much they love them.
At one point, I asked one of the boys, "What are you going to say to your Dad when he gets home from work?"
The boy looked at me in a quizical, almost hostile manner and responded (with utter disdain): "My Daddy doesn't work. He's a doctor!"
