Here is a bright spot amidst the trials we are going through. (Said like Forrest Gump, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get." It's just not always sweet with us.)

We got featured in the local newspaper! Yay!!

Right around Christmas time, I sent a Press Release to the local newspaper. When I spoke with the business writer, he told me to just send it in an email with the header titled "New Business." Well, that wasn't good enough for me. I mean, this was my major in college! I had written press releases before. I think I've received a total of 5 column inches from the several press releases I've written. So, I didn't expect much. But I expected that this guy didn't get professional press releases very often. I brushed myself up on "the rules" and sent him this:

Orthodontist Opens New Practice in Prescott Valley

Prescott Valley, Arizona (December 21, 2009) --Robert Patterson, DDS, MS, will open the doors of his new practice in Prescott Valley for patients on January 4, 2010. Patterson Orthodontics will provide orthodontic care for children, teenagers, and adults for the Tri-cities area.

“When I was looking into different areas to set up my practice, I recognized a need for a full-time orthodontist in Prescott Valley,” says Dr. Patterson. “The population has grown significantly over the past 30 years, but there hasn’t been a full-time orthodontist to serve it.”
