Our Move

Our move was very eventful. I came across this description written by Rob in an email to one of his friends...this is mostly a journal entry so we can remember the adventure this has been...

So to let you know what happened on our way out here:

1) The night before we left, Angie got in a car accident with the kids and her mom. Fortunately, no one but the car was hurt.
2) We started for Prescott Valley, and I got to drive a 26ft penske truck with a trailer attached with the van on it.
3) Arrived in OK city, not much to worry about, but it iced over that night.
4) Left on second day, and we drove through the storm that was passing through the country. There were 45 mph winds going through Amarillo, with garbage and dust flying all around, and I went through a tank of gas about twice as fast as I had been. After a super long day of driving, made it to Albuquerque. However, when we got there, I was following Angie to the hotel (I didn't know where it was) and told her, "Whatever you do, if you have to turn around, don't make me do a u-turn. It's pretty hard to back up the truck with the car behind it.
5) So we miss the turn, and I follow them into a hotel parking lot, that doesn't have any room to turn around, and somehow I manage to get a pole in the parking lot between the van and the truck. So we decide to take off the trailer, so we can maneuver better, and in the process, sheared off the latch for the trailer hitch. So now the trailer is done.
6) So we leave the van and the trailer in the parking lot, go back to the hotel, and I spent the next 1.5 hrs getting a new trailer.
7) We started out the next morning, and within five miles, one of the wheels on the new trailer got shredded. So I spent the next hour waiting for a new wheel.
8) Finally going again, I kept plugging and later that day (about 6pm) we made it into Prescott, happy that we didn't have to be on the road all day the next day.

Mom told us about all that! That's just too crazy. I would've been a mess!

When do you say "I'm at my max...can't take anymore!" Good grief. I am so glad you finally made it and are getting settled!
