Better than a Cell Phone

Yesterday I took Rob to the airport so he's in CA now. So, I'm all by myself out here!
Today on the way to work, I got a flat tire. I could have called the Honda roadside assistance phone number...if I had a cell phone. But since I don't, I had to rely on something else...something I believe is better than a cell phone...prayer.
Once I confirmed the tire was flat, I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to send someone to help me fix the tire or to give me the impression to walk back home so I could call the Honda roadside assistance (this happened about a mile away from my home).
I had the impression that I should go ahead and pull out all the equipment and the spare tire and start working on changing the tire. Don't worry, I KNOW that I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant...but I figured that if I started doing this, my need for roadside assistance would be more obvious than if I had just sat in the car (since the flat was on the back right tire). Well, that worked. As soon as I got to the hardest part (loosening the lug nuts), a kind man in a van came out to help me. He was a black man in his late 40s. His eyes were kind so I knew that I could trust him. I also felt at peace the whole time he was changing my tire. When a cop stopped to check up on me, I knew that I could tell the cop that this man was helping me and that I didn't need the cop's assistance...I had no reason to fear him (even though I often fear unknown men).
As this man was leaving, he asked me if I had heard of the Koran. I said that I had. He asked me to read it. I told him that I have read parts of it. When he said that, I knew that the person who was helping me was a man with a belief in God and a man with pure desires to help others. I don't know if he is Muslim, but he might be.
All the way to work, I was thinking about how many good, humble Muslims there are, humble, religious people like this man. I truly am in awe with the devotion they have in their religion. I also felt saddened by the extremist Muslims (terrorists and the crazy sniper shooter) who give the rest of the the religion a bad name. I know that there are plenty of good people of that faith who really do live true and moral lives.
I am greatful for the Good Samaritan who helped me today. I am greatful for prayer and how I can trust God to answer my prayers and that I can trust the stranger that He sent to help me.
