I KNOW that I haven't been very good at posting blogs lately...so I'll give you a quick update of my life in the past month.
At the end of June, Rob and I went to UT for a fatty family reunion. My grandparents (and Chris's, too...isn't that just the wierdest thing...) turn 80 this year, so we had a huge family reunion to celebrate. It was a lot of fun. Rob sprained his knee (we think) at the same pond where he mutilated his finger 4 years ago. Poor Rob! Elice and Rob were just rough-housing it a little too much. I even swam about half way across the lake and shocked everyone...LOOK! A Pregnant lady is out there swimming!! Needless to say, not very many of my relatives braved the water (which was quite nice). Most of my cousins took care of their little kiddies and stayed on the shore...or they actually got out on a paddle boat. So, while everyone was staying high and dry, Rob and Elice were playing King of the Mountain on a blow-up trampoline out in the water. Brayden even braved the rope swing (yes, the same one that gave Rob 5 screws in his finger). It was a really fun family reunion. We also went to a theme park one day and had a really great Sunday afternoon program. I'm really glad that I'm a part of that family (and this one, too).
My immediate family ALL came out to visit just last week. We went to Washington, DC, and New York City with them. My younger sister's graduation present this year was to treat everyone to a Broadway musical. So we saw Fiddler on the Roof. Rob and I are definitely going back to NYC when we can! We loved that big, bustling city. After NYC, my family went to Palmayra, NY, to see the Hill Cumorah pageant and see some Church history sites. We came back home. When they arrived back in Richmond, the girls and my mom helped Ruth (and Maren...since she's the gal with all of the great ideas) throw me a baby shower. We got HOOKED UP!! We have so much stuff from that shower...it's great!! I love how so many people are so generous. We've really been blessed so far.
The family returned home on Tuesday. I am so glad that they were able to come out here. Most of them stayed with Bob and Ruth and got to know them better. We had a Family Home Evening on Monday night and Bob gave a great lesson. As I was sitting there, I just thought of how lucky I am to be a part of such two great (and very different) families.
So, life has been a little busier than normal. But life is good. We just had to get a lot in before we have the baby and I'm stuck in the house for a few weeks. (The baby just stretched...how cute!!)
