I've loved everyone's cricket comments. However, I want to point out that the crickets that live under our house are very different from the thick, candy shelled type that you're accustomed to seeing, eating, grinding into flour, or using as a suppository. The crickets here have big, round ball-shaped, soft bodies. Their antanae are uncommonly long, and so are their hind legs.
Anyway, crunchy candy shell or soft-bodied, I doubt any of you would think that finding a smooshed cricket in the toe of your slipper is a dandy experience.
