I LOVE BEING A PATTERSON!!

Thanks, Joe, for your thoughts. That's what I love about Christmas, too, the chance to take time out of our busy schedules and be together for Christmas. I have a feeling that there will be many fun Patterson Christmases in the future. And the more our families grow, the funner they will get. Rob and I really enjoyed visiting the Smiths just before Christmas. We're also so glad that Henry, Joe, and Stephanie came out to VA this year (my mom was sad that we were cutting our trip short in UT, but we also had family to see here!).
I really am so blessed to be a part of this family. When I went on vacation, I was missing Bob and Ruth. I've been so lucky to live near them because I get to see all of you so much more!! And I've gotten to know them so much better...they're becoming just as much of a mom and dad to me as my real mom and dad are to me.
I'm getting to feel like all of you are real siblings instead of in-laws. Thanks to Chris, I got to know Elice at other Smith weddings and Davis family reunions, and I always liked how nice she was to me, even though I was one of the "younger" cousins (Chris always hung out with the "older" cousins, so I never really got to know him until I became his sister-in-law!). Maren wrote to me a few times on my mission and I felt like I bonded with her then. I love that Sarah and I have a similar hobby...scrapbooking (although I feel like the beginner and she's the pro). I got to know Henry really well when he and Rob were living together at BYU. And I bonded with Joe for that short time he lived here in VA.
3 Christmases ago, I met Bob and Ruth and Maren (and the Wills) and Joe and Henry for the first time. Even though I was still "wierd" from the mission, I really enjoyed coming out here. I love being a part of this family. I knew when I was marrying Rob that I was marrying an incredible person. And now I know why...he came from an incredible family. I'll always be grateful to be a part of this family.
I love you all!!
