National Patterson's Christmas Vacation: City Slickers

Howdy, ya'll. Welcome to Texas. Ya'll've heard the song, The stars at night are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas. Well, folks, it's true. I seen them Milky Way stars myself while we was in Texas. They sure are purdy.
Well, goin to the deep country of Texas does somethin to a city slicker. It changes yer. Everyone ya meet is so nice and kindly. Just check out all-a these photers. That a-top picture is one of most of the gang goin on a horse ride. Sorry, they ain't herdin cattle. While we was checkin out the horse-back ridin for the gang, Colden, Dylan, and Trevor gots to ride a horse around the parking lot. We also fed a herd of goats some carn.
Back at the cabins, we played, relaxed, and played some more. We sure enjoyed relaxin ourselves with family (oh, I forgots to mention that we was in Texas for a Patterson family reunion). Colden followed Gramma around everywhere. He was her lit'l buddy. Dylan played with his pops, cousins, and Grams, too. Rob an I played games with the adults every night. And ya think we would get our game fix playin so many games...we're ready to play some more!
The cabin owners let the kiddos ride a small horse up on their property. They was so nice and kindly. So, all in all, Colden got to ride horseys three times on this five day trip (and his preggo mommy wished she could have joined them).
Right near our cabins was the Frio River. We went playin at the river every day. On cold days, we throwed rocks in the river. On nice days, the crazies got in and got wet. Rob and his brother and the big boys tried to make a bridge, or maybe it was a dam. They got half way and the current slowed them down. So they made a kiddie pool instead. The fishin was supposed to-a been good, but none of the kiddos caught nothin and the a-dults didn't try.

Then, of course, on the big night, New Year's Eve, well, actually the night after (cause we didn't get per-mission from the cabin owners), we set off a bunch of big firecrackers and fireworks. They don't do nothing small in Texas. We had Roman candles, the big kind that shoot in the sky, the kind that wheeley around on the ground, firecrackers, and lots and lots-a sparklers.

So, the next time you talk to us and we slip in a howdy, a ya'll, or a yippie-kye-aye-kye-oh, just remember where we's been.

I can't believe you kept that talk up the whole time! That must've taken awhile!
Looks like a great vacation! But not as fun as Utah! ;)
